Context & Goals

The Cambodian automotive market is beginning its transition to electric mobility, driven by a rapidly expanding middle class and a growing awareness of environmental issues. In this context, Leapmotor wanted to establish a strong digital presence in Cambodia through its local distributor, with a clear objective: to translate the brand's premium and technological image onto a website tailored to the specificities of the local market.

The challenge was multifaceted. First, it was essential to faithfully maintain the design system of the main Leapmotor website while adapting it to the constraints of the Cambodian market, ensuring international brand consistency. The site also had to be fully bilingual (English and Khmer), which required meticulous management of Khmer typography, layouts adapted to both scripts, and a seamless user experience regardless of the language chosen. Finally, it was necessary to present the range of electric vehicles in an immersive and premium way, from the C10, an intelligent family SUV with the LEAP 3.0 architecture, to the T03, a compact and accessible urban city car, while offering a visual presentation that met the standards of the automotive industry.

Our Approach

1. Research & Strategy
We conducted an in-depth analysis of Leapmotor's international digital positioning and the Cambodian market's expectations regarding electric mobility. This study allowed us to understand the brand's visual and narrative codes—a universe blending innovation, sustainability, and sophistication—and to define a local adaptation strategy faithful to Leapmotor's DNA while integrating the cultural and linguistic specificities of Cambodia.

We benchmarked premium automotive websites in the region to identify best practices in terms of user experience, product presentation, and web performance in Southeast Asian markets.

2. Développement Web
The site was entirely developed on Webflow, leveraging Finsweet's Client-First framework to ensure a clean, maintainable, and scalable design system. We faithfully adapted the design system of the main Leapmotor website for the Cambodian market. Development was carried out with a commitment to premium quality: lightweight and fluid animations reinforcing the brand's technological identity, meticulous responsiveness tested across all breakpoints to deliver an optimal experience from desktop to mobile, native English/Khmer bilingual support directly within Webflow, and optimized web performance.

Particular attention was paid to the typographic rendering of Khmer, a script with demanding technical specifications, to ensure visual harmony between the two language versions of the site. The clear and well-documented code structure facilitates maintenance and future development by the local teams.

Results

The new website positions Leapmotor as a credible and premium player in the Cambodian electric mobility market. The platform offers a digital showcase that reflects the brand's technological ambitions while perfectly adapting to the realities of the local market.

Leapmotor now benefits from a fully integrated bilingual digital presence, providing a seamless user experience in both languages. The website, consistent with the brand's international design system, reinforces Leapmotor's coherence and credibility in the Cambodian market. Developed on Webflow with the Client-First framework, it provides local teams with a scalable tool that allows them to manage and update content independently.
