Emme Studio

Emme Studio is an interior architecture practice based in Paris and Marseille, specialising in creating unique, innovative spaces for residential and commercial clients. Their need was to develop, together, a creative identity that would set them apart from the competition and from rather traditional architects' websites. They wanted a distinctive visual footprint reflecting their avant-garde approach and drawing on the principles of brutalism in (web) design.
Context
Our client faced several challenges:
- Lack of brand identity: Their practice had no coherent brand identity accurately representing their unique philosophy and design approach.
- Competitive landscape: in a highly competitive market, differentiating and standing out from other interior architecture practices is crucial.
- Traditional design aesthetic: many architects' websites stick to a conventional design aesthetic, resembling simple portfolios, and fail to convey the client's innovative, unconventional approach to interior design.
Building the platform required 9 weeks of work: 4 weeks for branding and UX/UI design, and 5 weeks for development.
Project stages
1. Brand strategy development:
We carried out in-depth research into the client's target audience, their competitors and sector trends to identify the brand's key differentiators. We worked closely with the client to define their brand's values, mission and vision, making sure they aligned with their design philosophy, then developed a complete brand strategy centred on the client's commitment to innovation, creativity and challenging design standards.
2. Visual identity design:
Drawing on elements of brutalism, an architectural style increasingly present in web design in recent years, we created a visual identity embracing roughness, simplicity and boldness. We used a minimalist colour palette with bold, contrasting shades to create a strong visual impact, and designed a distinctive logo symbolising the client's unique approach to interior design, incorporating geometric shapes and clean lines.

3. Site development:
We designed and developed a custom website presenting the client's project portfolio in a visually appealing, immersive way, using design elements inspired by brutalism (asymmetric layouts, raw HTML-style framed text, industrial typography) to create a memorable and striking online experience. The site was built to be fully responsive and optimised for desktop and mobile devices.

Results
Implementing the brand strategy and the website design produced the following results:
- Distinctive brand identity: we successfully established a distinctive brand identity that sets Emme Studio apart from its competitors and resonates with its target audience.
- Greater visibility and recognition: the bold, unconventional brand approach attracted attention and recognition within the interior design community.
- Improved online presence: the visually striking website effectively presented the client's project portfolio, driving engagement and enquiries.
- Positive client feedback: the client received very positive feedback from existing and prospective clients, praising the creativity and innovation reflected in their brand image.
Overall, the collaboration produced a successful rebranding effort that reflects the client's unique design philosophy while positioning them as a leader in avant-garde interior design. Since going live, the studio receives an average of 12 quote requests per month, with a conversion rate of 8% on the portfolio pages.
